After adding on the Case IH line to Dan’s Farm Supply in 1989, changes had to be made to the store and service shop, to accommodate the larger size and larger line of equipment. Bringing on Case IH also meant their store was running out of space for all the lines they were carrying. In 2005, owner Dan Hupp bought a building down the road to emphasize the smaller lines to their appropriate audience. Opening Dan’s Turf and Contractors in April of 2006, the Bobcat and Kubota lines were moved to this facility to make room for the bigger ag equipment.
With no children of his own, Hupp had no one to pass on the business he had put some much time and devotion into building. In the mid 2000’s, it began to really weigh on Hupp, thus triggering him to start the quest to find a fellow dealership to partner up with. Hupp met with Daryl Nofziger and Virgil Hoene a couple of times in 2010, having great discussions together about the possibility of Dan’s joining Archbold Equipment as a location in Michigan. Archbold Equipment Company bought Dan’s Turf and Contractors on May 1 of 2011.
