Skips and Doubles Affect on Pollination and Yield

Today we revisited our Precision Planting shallow seed depth trial to analyze our corn plants that were planted too close together.  We discussed these plants earlier in the growing season and wanted to revisit them to see how they were doing now.  We found that these closely placed plants were acting as weeds to each other instead of growing together to maximize yield.  Plant height and ear development were both effected by undesirable spacing.  The two tenths of rain we received was perfect for our corn plants as they enter the pollination growth stage.  Temperatures are great as well with an average temp of 75 degrees.
